The story of m2 began in 1999, when a group of engineers — passionate skydivers with military backgrounds — came together with a shared vision: to create a new generation of automatic activation devices (AADs). Combining technical mastery, precision manufacturing, and genuine enthusiasm, this Czech team set out to redefine safety in the air.
From MPAAD to m2
In 2003, we introduced the MPAAD, the world’s second-ever electronic AAD, marking our official entry into the global market.
By 2009, the MPAAD Pilot followed, designed specifically for aviators.
A major breakthrough came in 2011 with the launch of the m2 in four versions — Expert, Student, Tandem, and Speed — quickly gaining trust among skydivers worldwide.
In 2012, we expanded into the defense sector with the m2 Tactical, opening a new chapter in cooperation with armed forces and government users.
Continuous innovation
In 2017, our evolution continued with the m2 multi and m2 multi Tactical, featuring the world’s smallest cutter with a unique anti-twist body design. The m2 multi was also the first AAD to offer multiple selectable profiles in one unit — and the first to require no battery replacement or maintenance throughout its entire lifetime.
The year 2025 marks another milestone: the introduction of dual-sensor technology in our new m2 EVO for civilian skydiving and m2 LSL for military low-altitude jumps. We are also proud to launch the m2 multi Tactical+, our most advanced military AAD to date.
A unique connection with MarS
What truly sets m2 apart is its origin. It is an independent project of MarS a.s., a world-renowned manufacturer of parachute systems, and a dedicated team of Czech engineers.
Thanks to this unique connection, m2 combines the deep technical background of a global parachute producer with the real-life experience of active skydivers. It’s technology made by skydivers, for skydivers — developed by people who understand every moment of freefall, every deployment, and every detail that keeps you safe. This synergy between parachute manufacturing and AAD development is something no other producer in the world can offer.
Built in Europe, trusted worldwide
All m2 devices are designed, developed, and manufactured in the Czech Republic, with more than 90% of components and raw materials sourced from the EU and the USA. Production takes place in a robotized facility, ensuring exceptional precision and reliability. Our development team consists of Czech software engineers and active skydivers — people who truly understand what’s at stake. (Zbyněk, for example, has logged over 20,000 jumps.) We continuously innovate in collaboration with military users and skydivers worldwide, ensuring our devices perform flawlessly in the most demanding conditions.
